Details: I´m selling this black 98 Chevrolet Monte Carlo coupe. It is in Z34 trim, with the reliable and powerful 3.8 liter V-6 paired to an automatic transmission. Interior is black leather, and in very good condition. 181,000 miles but drives and shifts extremely smoothly, with plenty of pickup and solid handling. Inspected 4/13/12 and comes with service records from the last two years of ownership, including a recent oil change and a new thermostat, and even includes the original window sticker. The tires have plenty of tread left and the car has been rigorously maintained overall. The two downsides are that the remote keyless entry does not work, as the key fob needs a new battery, and the stereo head unit has a short that slowly drains the battery when the car sits too long, although the fuse can easily be removed to prevent this. The stereo cassette/CD player itself is original and the problem is a nonissue if you plan to replace it with a better aftermarket sound system. Aside from these problems, the car is in excellent condition despite its age, and is dependable and exceptionally easy to drive. Cruise control, air conditioning, steering wheel audio controls, and power seats/windows all still work perfectly. Would make an excellent first car or comfortable and inexpensive daily driver. Details: 1989 Z-24 Chevy Cavalier Convertible, 2.8 V-6 , 5 speed manual transmission. Burgundy with gray cloth interior. Runs, drives, and shifts good, nice car for fix up or use for parts, has PA salvage title paperwork. It will need a cat. converter put on the exhaust, a good used one comes with, and a gas tank at the cost of about $110.00. Interior is fair to good, not ripped up but does need to be cleaned. The buyer would have to fix any issues requested by an official salvage inspection station. Salvage vehicles are just that, rescues, theft recovery, abandon vehicle, etc. When pulled into a salvage yard the state requires the fluids drained thus the hole in the gas tank, that´s why it will need a tank. The little car runs good but I haven´t really driven it other than in the driveway. We believe the car has 200k miles, only found this out after I got it home and put a battery in it. The underside of car is good, frame is good, small spot of rust at the LR wheel opening, some dings but doesn´t appear to have ever been wrecked. Someone hammered the lock out of the trunk, however a really nice trunk lid w/lock from a 91 z24 comes with for replacement. Car is in need of some attention, but it´s hard to find a neat project on the cheap, this one is it. Remember a good used cat. converter, and a 90´s Z24 trunk lid is included with this purchase.
