Its paint and bodywork may require minor touch-ups, with repairable cosmetic defects. There are minor body scratches or dings and minor interior blemishes, but no rust. The tires match and have 50% or more of tread. It also has a clean title history, with some service records available, and will pass safety and smog inspectionMy wife and I no longer have use for our chevy pickup, looking for something that can pull a 5th wheel. It is a strong running truck, averaging 18+ mpg on highway. I would have no reservations about driving this truck across country. (we have actually done that with this truck, with a trailer, back in 2007. No problems whatsoever) It has mostly been used for long distance commuting, and camping trips 3-4 times a year. No squeaks or rattles, rides quiet and straight. Most servicing/repairs performed by shop, some maintenance self performed. ABS computer was replaced @ 120k by insurance company from collision w/ deer, as well as front bumper, headlight, grille. Custom chrome grill, custom headlights, really a sharp looking truck. Tows well, 4 wheels great, rides smooth on highway.. I am the second owner (technically 3rd):The original owner of the truck bought it brand new from a dealership, Winter Chevrolet in Pittsburg, California. He was the owner of a company I used to work for in the early 2000´s. He drove it for 4 years, gave it to his son when he turned 16.The son drove it for 1-1/2 years. I knew the son, he was a pretty mello kid, was good to it.I bought it in 2005.I should tell you that while the son had it, he invested about 5k into the stereo system. Flip out dvd player (kenwood deck), full color, touch screen, built in navigation, satelite radio, 2 12´ subs under rear seat, eclipse 1000w x4 amp feeding all door speakers (mb quarts w/ crossovers), kenwood 350w x2 amp feeding the subs. He also installed an aftermarket alarm system w/ remote start. Nice for chilly mornings. Everything was installed professionally. Also put a custom paint matched fiberglass tonneau cover.The stereo is amazing. To this day it is still modern. Everything works great. It has the potential to be earthshaddering, but is easily set to regular with a bass control knob mounted on the dashboard. Very nice for long trips. Also has connections already run for playstation & x box.That, plus the flowmasters, and a few cosmetic changes, are the only aftermarket items on the truck. Engine/drivetrain have not been modified.The only negative thing about this truck is the paint. It is 12 yrs. old, and the paint is beginning to show this. Details: 1969 Chevrolet El Camino SS 396. Malibu Real SS 396 automatic car. Not a clone. 396 is long gone. Has a Pontiac engine in it now I was told. I don´t know what size. Car is originally blue with a white vinyl roof, Column shift automatic, 12 bolt rear end, Power Disc Brakes, Factory A/C, Power Steering and Tilt Column. Never wrecked, Brakes still work. Passenger floor behind the seat has a big rust hole. Car needs a total restoration. Glass is good and windows go up and down very nice still. Everything is cracked or worn out on the interior. My grandfather purchased this car new. Passed in 82 and was given to my Uncle. It is a 1 family owned car. Car has been sitting for 10 years and has not ran since parked. I don´t know why it was parked. I have title to car. Last registered in 02. Shows 39,000 on the odometer so it is at least 139,000. I know the car was not driven much after 1982. Car was purchased new in the Gardena CA area.
