Details: 1958 Chevy Apache for sale. All original. 235 ci straight six, 4 speed, granny 1st. I have all the original chrome emblems, I never put them on the truck so they wouldn´t deteriorate. Unknown actual mileage. Needs body work. Drivetrain is sound. Runs good. Clean title. The drivers door shuts but you really have to slam it. It´s sagging quite a bit and I´m pretty sure the problem is in the lower hinge. The heater doesn´t work, not sure if it´s the switch or what on that one. I´ve never driven it in the winter since it was a 2x4 pickup so that´s never been a problem. The wood in the bed is rotted out, I have a piece of plywood laying across the bed right now. The engine runs well, a little rough when it´s cold but once it is warmed up it´s good to go, the valve cover gasket is leaking oil but that´s a piece of cake to change. The only spot where the rust has gone all the way through is the lower left, drivers side, corner of the cab. The tires have been on the truck a long time and they are starting to crack on the outside, they hold air, I just don´t think I would take up to 60 mph. I don´t think the wipers work either, not that the wipers are in that good of shape anyway. I think that is pretty much it as far as the little things go. The biggest thing is the drivers side door, it´s alway shut hard, but it has gotten worse the last couple years.A lady in New Mexico bought it brand new and used it for a farm truck to feed hay to her cattle. Tie off the steering wheel, put it in granny low, and hop in the back and throw hay out to the cattle. Kinda cool. Then it sat in a field for 20 or so years, then she moved it under a tree and there it sat for another 10. My dad came across it and bought it off of her for a restoration project, the engine was rebuilt and drive train were completely gone through about 12 - 15 years ago and he got about 1/2 way done with the interior. The mileage on the odometer is the mileage since the engine was rebuilt, somewhere around 7800. My dad used it as his daily driver when he was in New Mexico then we moved to Wisconsin and he didn´t drive it much. 10 years in Wisconsin then I bought it off of him and he brought it out to me in Oregon about 2 years ago and I´ve never got Oregon plates for it. Now I´m choosing to sell it instead of driving it. I have a different truck I´m choosing to restore instead of this one.I also have the shop manual for it, the chrome, a couple original hub caps, a some extra parts that are going with it. We have ran super gas in it and got regular oil changes to keep it in good health as so did the previous owner my brothers wife. It has an automatic 4x4 unit. It has a nice lift kit. It sits on 33x12.50 R17 tires mounted on less than a year old wheels bought from Les Schwab for over $550.00. Has a new alternator and surpintine belt. Have paperwork from 2002 with items fixed. The 4x4 unit works great as we love to go to North spit to camp and we made a couple trips this winter to Mt. Hood and then to Diamond Lake in the snow. Although it would go great in the dunes we stayed away because I don´t like to beat up my vehicles. We have driven this rig as our family car until now as we have 7 chilkdren. We inherited a King Cab Truck with canopy and bench seat mounted in bed to fit us all and decided to sell this to pay for our newest addition, a baby girl. The only thing I was going to get was a muffler because it has a few holes in it. With our new baby we don´t wanto pay out any money and that´s why were selling it to pay for her. :) It is runnig great and ready to drive away with the next family or extremist. Numbers Match, built in St´ Louis 9,001-10,000 GVWR. Power Windows & Door Locks, Also Air Conditioner, but does not work. Picked this beauty up about a year and a half ago in southern Oregon for all my hauling needs but just have not been able to get around to working on it and it is going to waste just sitting around. I hate to let it go but could put the money to better use at this time. Runs and drives great, just needs a little TLC. The right person can make this a dependable daily driver or work truck for just a few hundred dollars in a couple weekends, if that. I´ll go through this thing with you front to back top to bottom with a creeper and cover everything if you are interested.I started to work on it, I have replaced all the glow plugs and the upper radiator hose (I have a new lower hose and new heater core hoses to replace, that with new coolant, and it´ll be good.) It needs mufflers, has just straight pipes at the moment. Steering wheel is a bit loose, have a Grant part kit, just haven´t got in there. It will need two new batteries for sure (prior owner stripped the terminals and mixed a Gel Cell and Lead Acid). Great Over-sized Tires with 16´ Rims, older, but tons of tread. Prior owner replaced the U-Joints but did not re-install the front drive-line, have all parts. Brakes are good and have an extra set Front Rotors to go with. The interior is mostly bare, Door panels are there, but have most the trim pieces boxed up. has the original rear bench seat, the Fronts are Power Buckets from a 350Z. The whole truck and cab is really strait, a head turner. There is only a small dent that can be pushed out on the bed by the passenger gas tank fill, the same dually fender also has a small crack (someone dinged it while parked on the street at the prior owners home). The owner before him did a lot to customize the body of the truck already, Flushed the rear lights and tailgate (needs a little work still) the gas fills, fiberglass roll-pan, etc. Billet Phantom grill, Billet Bow-Tie. The Tranny was completely rebuilt before I got it and drove strong all the way from Florence to Portland to Bend, I didn´t even notice the 10´ 3000lb trailer I was pulling. These Engines get over 20mpg and aftermarket turbo kits are available from Banks that´ll improve that by 20%. Like I said I hate to let it go, but it needs to go to someone that can take care of it and use it. Shame to let it go to waste. Have more Hi-Res pics available.
