Details: I am selling my 1987 Chevy Cavalier Z24. It is a 2.8L 3-speed automatic with just under 150,000 original miles. Black exterior with gray interior.I bought this to be a project and I just dont see myself finishing it anytime soon with my current financial scenario. Although I have knocked out a few things which are listed below. A rather rare model year of the Cavalier this Z24 still has the complete factory body kit. However, the front lip is no longer on the car and will not be included with the sale (it is in the photos but I no longer have it). In fact, everything on this car is original. The car is in rather good shape cosmetically for its age. The only major ding on the car is on the driver´s door. It is a dent about 8 inches long and really isn´t much of a visual distraction. The car has all power options, the optional digital dash, heat and AC, rear defrost, interior trunk release, cruise control, a sunroof and more! This car also came with a fiberglass hood and header panel from the factory! Lightweight and sporty! The engine is rather clean and well cared for. New battery as well!The bad however, is that the car needs plenty of work. The engine needs a little TLC. I am damn sure it needs a coil pack and that may be it! The transmission needs looked at as well, it may be toast. It leaks fluid and doesn´t like to shift properly. There is no exhaust, the passenger window motor is dead and the window is stuck down, there is no headliner and the steering column´s tilt feature is pretty messed up. There is also no stereo. Although the tires are near new, one of them is a different size than the other three. When I bought the car I was given only an ignition key. I do have a complete set of door locks and a trunk lock all with key, they will simply need to be installed, which is not hard at all. The interior is in pretty good shape for a 23 year old car. The seats have some wear and tear and the headliner is missing. The door panels are also missing.I have done some minor repair and maintienance in the time I have had the car: new plugs and wires, new PCV valve, new radiator hoses, new battery, coolant flush and fill, oil change, fluid top off and more. The car stops on a damn dime. The ´Chosen Kings´ decal on the windshield has been removed as well. As it was going to be a project, I have acquired about 1/2 of a black interior I was going to swap into the car making it black on black. A black dash in great shape, black rear seat in excellent condition and all sorts of interior trim pieces. I have some extra parts for the car as well: a new spoiler to replace the current one with a chip in it, a strut bar to improve suspension and steering plus many replacement parts to fix or replace the damaged items on the car; tail lights, body trim and more. There is a ton of extra goodies included with the car. I also have a Chilton repair manual. The stock intake airbox has been removed (I still have it) so that a warm air intake could be installed. I can include the air filter and piping needed for this as well.Bottom line here is the that car runs, but runs poorly. The transmission works, but only shifts if you come completely off the gas to let it happen. I think the transmission will be the biggest issue that the new owner of this car will have to deal with. It may need a major repair or something minor, I really haven´t had much time to look into it. If you decide to buy the car, you will need to have it towed home.The car is a classic in my mind. I can say that I have never even seen another one of these cars in person, let alone with all of the factory original body kit. This is a great car with excellent potential that just needs someone to bring her back to life. It is hard to let this car go, but my finances deem it necessary. It would make a great father son rebuild, a track car or an Autocross or RallyCross project. Truck has A/C but needs belt and charge, maybe more. Heater works. New Pioneer stereo CD head with eclipse speakers. New (less than 500 miles) BFG radial T/A tires with American Racing Licensed chrome ´REV´ wheels. also has frame mount trailer hitch. Truck still has original grill and all stainless. Bumpers are very fair to good. All glass is great. All lights and electrical work correctly.These mid 70´s trucks were prone to severe rust, but this truck has an extremely minimal amount. There is a small hole in the right door, and a crack in the right rear quarter. There is some surface rust on the bed floor, but it has not penetrated. The truck is extremely straight otherwise. Hood, front fenders, and top are near perfect. Cab corners, door sills, floorboards, and all frame components are rust free. Door panels are new, carpet is fair, but this truck needs a new headliner, seat upholstery, and Dash pad. Gauges and dash lights all work, as do heat and A/C controls. Silverado wood grain needs refinishing, but is complete. Truck has dual gas tanks, but needs a new hose run from left side. right side tank, and electric switch work correctly. This truck drives great, and would make a great daily driver! Or, fix it up or restore it! New (less than 500 miles) BFG radial T/A tires with American Racing Licensed chrome ´REV´ wheels. also has frame mount trailer hitch. Truck still has original grill and all stainless. Bumpers are very fair to good. All glass is great. All lights and electrical work correctly.These mid 70´s trucks were prone to severe rust, but this truck has an extremely minimal amount. There is a small hole in the right door, and a crack in the right rear quarter. There is some surface rust on the bed floor, but it has not penetrated. The truck is extremely straight otherwise. Hood, front fenders, and top are near perfect. Cab corners, door sills, floorboards, and all frame components are rust free. Door panels are new, carpet is fair, but this truck needs a new headliner, seat upholstery, and Dash pad. Gauges and dash lights all work, as do heat and A/C controls. Silverado wood grain needs refinishing, but is complete. Truck has dual gas tanks, but needs a new hose run from left side. right side tank, and electric switch work correctly. This truck drives great, and would make a great daily driver! Or, fix it up or restore it!
