Ran great - I updated fuel line, battery and cable, got the rear light rewired, replaced headlight switch, tuned it up and then the fuel pump went bad. Real bad. It seeped gasoline into the crankcase and shot the motor. Such is the risk of buying an old truck!Rather than drop a new / rebuilt motor into this truck I figure to sell quick and move on. It´s an honest, original truck with good original patina. Ready for a small block or ???Brakes - work great, including parking brake, no fade or pull or mushy pedalShifts - sweet, snicks through all 3 and reverse, clutch bites strongTires - old, okay, but if planning to drive a lot they need upgrade. Spare looks bad, jack is missingStarts - great before engine went, carb probably is due a rebuild, I set idle high to compensateVERY originalRadiator - new (different size than original but new)Heater core - out, bypassedHeater fan - does not appear to workTail lights - just rewiredGas tank - clean but gauge is off, fuel line redone in segmentsStop light, license, turn signals, dash light - all good, just fixedDome light - needs rewireRadio and cigarette lighter - never had them, has original radio delete plate, never cut up for tape deck or gaugesBattery - new including ground cableRear view mirrors - original, inside mirror patina but all thereWindows - all good, bb crack in windscreen, no leaks, windows roll up and down easy, vent wing windows no problem, smaller rear window goodDoors - open and close easy, lock and unlock fine, have original keys and back up set. Tragic, but it happens. Was running fine fired right up cold, oh well.I think someone else needs to revive her. I would but now it´s a budget and parking issue. Best to walk away. A real deal. Holes to the left on it and holes to the right, both in front of the doors.That´s where the foot operated in-door airconditioning sits,a lever operated opening. Not such a smart idea, it turns out 50 years later. There is a dent in the drivers door, it gets bigger every time you let it swing. They made some slide lever closing mechanism for it,and that was good for not even 50 years, it died last year, leaving it a game short of the superbowl.The rear window is too small and there is not one piece of dressing around it,just some rubber gasket. The front wall of the bed is detached from the matress,rusted through from left to right. you couldn´t see it the last few years until my idiot kid busted it through completly last week,with a shovel,unloading 2200lbs of gravel.Yes, thats the kind of load we put in her,and she´s moving, swinging a little from left to right, back and forth, it´s a floaty out of world experience, Tim O´Leary be owning it was he alive. or Andre the Giant,that´s how much room is in there.He was a cool guy anyway, if it wasn´t for hulk a mania, he would have been the greatest ever. My kid, he´s 6ft+, he sleeps it off in it when he´s had one too many. The engine is all dirty, all 8 cylinders of it.Like, really dirty black stuff all over it.The earth shakes when you turn it on.She runs on all 8.She´s thursty,too, every 12-15 miles she wants a gallon, but too me it´s worth it. It´s the most majestic ride in my life. This Clean Title 2 door coupe was purchased several years back with the intentions of keeping this car but debts i have accrued have put me in a position to put this car up for sale. Many parts were bought new .I have the build sheet from this car and have receipts totaling more that 8K from all the stuff i have purchased since I´ve owned it.The car does need body work and paint. The car was painted at some point in time before I received it and I got it with the different color fender and the vinyl top was removed.The mismatch fender also is dented at the bottom. You can see that the roof was primered black and the tabs where the metal trim went were removed poorly. In the interior, the dash does have cracks where the speakers sit and above the HVAC controls. The seats were redone before i purchased the car and they are in good condition with only 1 small hole(looks like a cigarette burn) in the top part of the driver seat and stains on the lower parts.The mechanical gauges work but are not wired up to light up at nighttime and the same goes for the dash.The passenger side door doesn´t open with the key.Seems like latch mechanism is loose.The power steering pump leaks after it sits for a while. Belt squeaks in the AM when first turned on.Car runs and drives solid. Oil Pressure 54 psi cold, 42 psi warmed up. Water temp stays between 170-185. Car will come with 15 in rallys instead of rims pictured.
